NuMan Pro 3.0 Update

Steps for downloading and installing the NuMan Pro 3.0 Update:

1. Click on the link above.

2. A dialogue should appear and give you the opportunity to Run or Save the file.

3. Select Save then select the directory for saving the file, a location where it will be easy to locate later (e.g. My Documents). If desired, print this page of instructions.

4. When the download has completed, close the browser and all other programs that may be running on the computer.

5. Locate and double-click on the downloaded file (Setup_web.exe) to start the setup program. If you receive the message "The publisher could not be verified; are you sure you want to run this software?" click the Run button. The InstallShield Wizard will open.

• Note: You must already have a version of NuMan Pro 2.0 or later installed on your computer for this update to run successfully. If NuMan Pro is not already installed on your computer, you will be prompted to reinstall your previous version from the original CD.

6. Click Next. The InstallShield Wizard will guide you through the steps of the NuMan Pro update process. Pay close attention to the instructions displayed on the screen.

7. The "Destination Folder" page of the setup instructions now gives a default option of installing the NuMan Pro 3.0 update to a new folder: C:\Program Files\UMCP\NuManPro\. If you choose to install to this folder, the new initial default folder for opening and saving NuMan Pro files will be: C:\Program Files\UMCP\NuManPro\Fields.

To access your old files, you must copy them to this folder, or change the default path in NuMan Pro 3.0 to the old file folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\UofM\NuManPro\Fields). Installing to this path will leave the older version of NuMan Pro on your computer. This older version of the software will have to be removed manually, along with its shortcut, once your files have been copied to the new NuMan Pro 3.0 file folder.

• Note: Once files have been saved in NuMan Pro 3.0 they will not be readable by previous versions of NuMan Pro.

Optionally, the setup program will allow you to change the installation path to install the update in your previous NuMan Pro folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\UofM\NuManPro\). Choosing this option will install the updated program files in this folder and retain the current default folder for opening and saving NuMan Pro files.

8. Once the installation path is selected, click Next to continue to the next page. Click Install to begin the installation process.

9. Once the installation process is complete, click Finish to exit the InstallShield Wizard. Upon exiting the InstallShield Wizard, a new shortcut will appear on your Windows Desktop, indicating that the program has been updated. Shortcuts for older versions of NuMan Pro will remain on your desktop and may be deleted manually.
